Last Update: Monday, 9:11pm

Notable: I have already shifted several folks on and off teams plus adjusted the alternate list based on "as of today" availability.

I have a feeling this will remain a fluid situation this evening & into tomorrow early AM.

Although the relay sheets have now been turned in, as long as changes are officially made latest by 8am Tuesday -- we can legally re-jigger a lot of things. PLEASE email as early as you can if you need changes to be made. This goes for folks named to teams as well as alternates pulling out (although alternates are already being utilized -- so alternates pulling out of the pool early because you think you'll never be used are potentially wrong!!!).

***************

-> Below please find initial USA Relay Teams for Tuesday’s MWC2026 Relay at the Carnia Arena venue in Forni Avoltri. I say “initial” because with relays it is always possible we’ll have changes if folks have to opt out. This is why we have a big list of alternates.

-> Note that I ended up having to be creative with some of the line-ups in part due to technique specifications provided by skiers.

-> If anyone sees a name that is 100% not available to race on Tuesday listed, I need to know ASAP. This applies to both those named to teams and also alternates. I prefer the actual skier email me, but I'll take someone that has direct contact with the skier. Please email  jd at xcskiworld dot com

-> For those skiers named to relay teams, it is essential to get word to JD via email or text — BEFORE 7:30am -- from anyone that has to bail out upon waking up Tuesday. Usually this is due to a sudden illness or injury. Please email jd at xcskiworld dot com as fast as you can if it's a no-go morning. I only have until 8:30am to make official changes. After that we can still shuffle the line-up, but we probably will not correct the names on the final result (so alternates will have to pretend to be the original skiers :-).

-> Below the initial teams is a list of alternates. The alternates are NOT LISTED ANY ORDER. I have a ton of flexibility in putting alternates into teams when needed. I can put an alternate into an open leg straight up OR I can pull a skier already on one team to fill a “hole”— and then put an alternate in that newly-open spot. The only hard and fast limitation is that we can only drop skiers DOWN in age groups. So it's easier to just list everyone that I think I have available if/when I need to make substitutions.

-> For classic alternates, it is totally fair game to opt for skins or zeroes since we don’t know if you are racing. Skate alternates do NOT need to re-glide wax your skis just for the relay.

-> We very likely will NOT know if we need alternates to fill in until we are at the venue on Tuesday. So if you prefer to skip that uncertainty and don't want to be an alternate — please email jd at xcskiworld dot com so we can take you out of the alternate pool.

-> Alternates PLEASE check the USA Daily Updates Page first thing in the morning on Tuesday to see if there's been notices in time for me to post here before I leave  -- but realistically I probably won't know if we need to make an eleventh hour switch until I'm at the venue.
