2010 National Masters Club ChallengeThe Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club took top honors in the "NM2010 Club Challenge" at the 2010 AXCS National Masters held at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center in Craftsbury, Vermont (January 28-30, 2010). American XC Skiers (AXCS) created the 2010 Club Challenge as a very simple incentive designed specifically to encourage clubs to participate as a group at the National Masters event -- particularly the Thursday, January 28 10km FS National Masters Championship. No race results will be used to determine the Club Challenge winning club. Skiers simply needed to register and start the 10km FS to be counted towards the final tally. So every club member -- no matter what age or ability -- counted. Eleven Craftsbury skiers were posted on the final results sheet. Stowe came in second with nine skiers and then Mansfield and Ford Sayre tied with eight skiers apiece. In recognition for their efforts, AXCS is sending a packet of $10 off certificates to the Craftsbury Nordic Ski Club good towards 2010/2011 AXCS membership. |
