AXCS Km's With Kids Program

Km's With Kids redemption form

The American Cross Country Skiers has created the new Km's With Kids program in an effort to encourage young children to XC ski more often ... plus provide a unique and innovative benefit for AXCS members. Children completing the silver standard of kilometers skied during a single ski season for their age group (according to Norwegian Ski Federation standards) will qualify for a nifty prize packet full of goodies from AXCS and other sponsors.

The guidelines for this program are very simple.

Step One: An adult AXCS member needs to agree to act as a "sponsor" for a child age 12 or under. AXCS members can be the sponsor of a limit of one child not under their legal guardianship. Parents/guardian AXCS members can sponsor an unlimited number of children in their own household. Grandparents and aunts/uncles can also sponsor an unlimited number of grandchildren, nieces, or nephews. Sponsoring person's membership must be current for the entire program season.

Step Two: The "sponsored" child keeps a log (of their own design) tracking the number of kilometers they ski each day from November until the end of March. AXCS does not require a copy of this log (it's the honor system here), but the AXCS member "sponsor" may require seeing the logbook when they sign the certification form.

Qualification Schedule: (age is based on age as of 12/31)
  • 5 years and under: 25km
  • 6-8 years old: 50km
  • 9-10 years old: 100km
  • 11-12 years old: 200km

Step Three: Once the target total has been reached, print out the Km's With Kids redemption form...have it certified by an AXCS member and the child's parent (if different)...mail it in to the AXCS. Please allow 2-3 weeks for the prize package to arrive via mail. One prize package redemption per child between November and end of March. Prize packages (at least the really good ones) guaranteed only to the first 200 redemption forms received by the AXCS office.
