| Oceana Cross-Country Ski Association Boyne City, Michigan Oceana Cross-Country Ski Association (OCCSA) has been in existence since 3/96. The purpose of the Oceana Cross-Country Ski Association is to enhance cross-country ski opportunities in Oceana County. We groom trails at the Pentwater Pathways located just off Wayne Road in Pentwater, as well as the Health department in Hart. OCCSA is working with the state to implement trails in Crystal Hills and Silver Lake. |

Dedication and hard work developed the Club into the Ford Thunderbird Ski Club and eventually into the Thunderbird Ski Club, now the largest ski club in Michigan and one of the largest in the nation with over twelve hundred members. Our location, in the middle of the Lake Superior snow belt called Big Snow Country, provides us with snow that tends to arrive earlier, pile deeper, and last longer than anywhere else in the Midwest! Abundant snow, coupled with the natural rolling terrain in our northern hardwood forest, makes for a wonderful winter experience. So bring your skis or snowshoes and give us a try. |

All that the AXCS requires is a postal address for shipping promotional materials and your agreement to distribute those materials to your club members at potlucks, workouts, races, swaps, anywhere your group meets or can pass the good word. Small Print: AXCS typically defines "Clubs" as either non-profit local community organizations with adult (25+ years) programs or training groups (non-profit or commercial) specifically working with adult XC skiers. We also include in this directory selected local XC organizations that have ties to major citizen performance skiing events and programs.
